Did you know that there are ideas about personal prayer on our web site? (See the "Growth" page.) Also, there are prayer boxes in both buildings for you to put your prayer request in. The boxes are checked each Thursday before the prayer teams meets to pray for any needs we are aware of. Thank you for upholding your brothers and sisters in the faith (and beyond!) through this powerful ministry.

News & Notes

Dwayne has a new phone number:  919-478-0312. His former cell phone number has been discontinued.
Black and white copies of the online Church Directory are now available at the church office. We'd appreciate contributions to help offset the cost of obtaining these directories, which are an important resource for those in our church family without access to the church website.

CHURCH KEYS: Do you have a key to the outside doors of the church?  If so, please put your name and contact information on the list on the bulletin board outside of the church office.  Thanks, The Church Council.
Our web site’s new “Members Only” page includes the JUMC Family Photo Directory and more. To gain access, e-mail LongShadows@windstream.net.
Join us each Sunday morning before and after the 8:30 a.m. Heartstrings Worship Celebration in the Wesley Center for light refreshments, a cup of coffee and great conversation, available to everyone!  Come early, then attend the 8:30 or 8:45 Worship Services.  Come later, gather with your church family, then go on to Sunday School, your choice – just know that we are here for you!

If you have a question, suggestion or complaint and you’re not sure who to talk to, the Church Lay Leadership directory is posted on the bulletin board outside of the kitchen in the Wesley Center--and also on the "Members Only" page of this website.  It has the names and contact information of all the Church Council members as well as a list of all the JUMC committees/teams and their members.

Our church newsletter is now distributed primarily via e-mail. If you have e-mail, please send a note to jayme1@windstream.net; include the name(s) associated with the e-mail address and she will make sure you are set up. Or sign up on-line here. If you know of someone who doesn't have e-mail, please have them call Jayme at 718-5108 and advise if they wish to continue to have it mailed.

If you would like your birthday or anniversary dates printed in the “Life Together” newsletter, please send an email to Jayme at jayme1@windstream.net.  Be sure to include the names, birthdays and anniversaries of your family members!

Sign up to receive the JUMC newsletter via e-mail! Go to the "Members" page of JonesboroUMC.org and follow the "Sign Up" link. You'll get the news sooner and help save a bit on postage.

A subscription to the North Carolina Conference Christian ADVOCATE costs just $15 a year, or $22 for two years. To subscribe, send your check to NC Conference Christian Advocate, Conference Treasurer-Raleigh Area, PO Box 60053, Charlotte, NC 28260. Go to nccumc.org/advocate for further information.

Of course, the overall conference website nccumc.org provides an even greater wealth of information if you prefer to read or watch online. For example, if you want to see highlights from Annual Conference 2009, you can access a number of videos, including Bishop Gwinn's "State of the Church" address.
