JUMC Military Ministry
is Sanford District Lay Ministry of the Year
Thanks to your hard work and tireless efforts, our Military Ministry was lifted up as the Sanford District Lay Ministry of the Year and recognized at the North Carolina Annual Conference in June.
Joe C., our team leader, is serving on the Conferenc's BRAC Missions Developer Accountability Team to help provide information on how to attract new members to the United Methodist Churches in the Sanford and Cumberland Districts.
Pictured here are some of the members of the Military Ministry Team who spearheaded our efforts to adopt the Charlie Company, Joe C., chairman; Norma S., and Linda L., with Zack Coyle. Zack is in the Charlie Company, was formerly stationed in Iraq, and recently returned home to Texas.
On July 5, while he was visiting his mother in Raleigh, Zack and eight of his family members took the time to come to JUMC to thank our church for all the care packages, letters, and prayers offered for his company. Twelve of our church members enjoyed a meal with Zack and his family at Tony's Seafood Restaurant after church.
